Our first flight as a family of three! We decided to take advantage of my generous maternity leave AND Josh’s company’s unlimited PTO policy – so we headed to Australia!

We flew out of SFO late on Thursday night – Emily was passing out in the lounge because we were up wayyyy past her bedtime. We had to wake her up to buckle her into her own little seat belt, but I was able to nurse her during take off (and landing) even with her buckled in. We purposely booked bulkhead seats because they come with a fold-down bassinet for babies (and extra leg room for us)! The flight attendants set it up right after take off and we swaddled Emily up and hoped for the best. She slept 13 hours of the 14 hour flight – it was seriously amazing. This was our first time flying Qantas and it was great – super nice flight attendants and very comfortable economy seats – Josh and I slept 7-8 hours!

We landed at 9AM on Saturday (Australia time) – hello, Sydney!
